Reflexology at Òptim Holistic Therapies
From ancient Egypt to the modern contemporary world, various techniques to promote good health by working the feet have developed into what we nowadays term ‘Reflexology’. This healing art is a scientific method which activates the internal healing powers of the body by stimulating certain corresponding points in the feet.
These points are called ‘reflex areas’. As the name suggests, they reflect the status of our entire body’s wellness via corresponding sections of our feet. These areas connect directly to all the glands, organs and areas of the body.
Our body is divided into ten energy zones which run from the head to the feet, connecting organs and all parts of the body through a flow of energy.
Our body is healthy when energy circulates freely through these zones. However, if there are obstructions along the zones, the area affected will hinder the flow of energy from circulating freely, thus causing various processes which lead to a state of ill health for a particular portion of our body.
Through examination of the body’s reflex areas, Reflexology, can detect symptoms and their root causes.
By tackling the cause of the condition, reflexology provides a holistic healing approach, by which blockages can be released, or prevented, and a healthy flow of energy can be restored, thus maintaining optimum health.
Reflexology is known to be the perfect therapy to reduce the negative effects of stress and to ease pain, as it is the treatment which can directly stimulate the release of endorphins. Naturally released from the brain, endorphins make you feel relaxed and energised, and gradually lessen the negative effects of stress and pain.
